#WAMIMSYOuth3’c
WAMIMS Youth 3’c – is a community service programme, initiated and owned by WAMIMS Youth to encourage their peers and community to walk a mile in elders’ shoes. 3’c means clean, cook and care for the elderly.
The programme aims to give young people in our communities a chance to become responsible citizen through serving, caring and loving elderly people in the community.Every month our youth select a house an elderly that’s needs attention – they then mobilize themselves to do the 3’c.
This programme teaches youth to learn through providing a service to others which can be incorporated into social lessons, biblical teachings, or job skill training.
School Shoes & Uniform Campaign
The truth is that shoes do make a difference, a lot more than we think. Children without school shoes and uniform become objects of ridicule and this leads to low self-esteem, low marks and depression.
Every year WAMIMS adopts a school in rural areas to support with school shoes and uniform. To date, we have donated over 3,000 shoes and uniform to underprivileged children in rural areas.
Winter-kos For the Homeless
Though living on the street is tough all year around, it’s no secret that winter brings even harder times. With colder days and nights without shelter, the homeless of our city struggle to keep warm, safe and fed as they watch others walk the streets with loved ones. It’s difficult time that can be made better with help from you.
WINTER-KOS FOR THE HOMELESS is not just about food. Yes, supplies are important and help to ensure those living on our streets are kept healthy, but so it is time and friendship. We work to ensure our city’s homeless are given all the support they need
and help them towards a better life. Join us as we take a moment this winter to acknowledge someone on the streets. We are all human; some of us are just in better positions than others.
S4U -Sportshoes 4 Underprivileged
Underprivileged kids might not have new clothes and shoes but they’ve got the biggest hearts and smiles and they love to learn, play and have fun, just like kids anywhere else in the world. Sport is one way in which they can escape from their situation, let their hair down and just be kids. Its also so good for many aspects of their development, physically, mentally and spiritually.
As much as they love sports, many of them don’t have sports shoes i.e. soccer, netball, volley ball basketball, volleyball, indigenous games etc. WAMIMS through the help and support of sponsors, supporters, donors, stakeholders and volunteers give underprivileged kids in disadvantaged communities the lifelong benefits of sports and physical activity by providing new equipment, apparel, and footwear to those in need.
